Wedding at Domaine de la Haie des Granges - Eure
From the moment we first met, I knew this was going to be an unusual but well-ordered wedding. Initially, a secular ceremony was not on the agenda, but a few days after our first meeting, Marie, a gendarme, and Christopher, an air force officer, had finally changed their minds. We had a lovely couple's engagement session a few weeks before the wedding, a real break from all the wedding preparations in Paris.
On the big day, I was there from the preparations in Clamart (IDF) to the end of the evening, in a fiery atmosphere at the Domaine de la Haie des Granges, in the Eure region. At the cocktail party held immediately after the wedding ceremony, all guests relaxed and enjoyed the estate's tree-lined grounds and the delicacies served. There was a very large number of military personnel present, with several trades represented, so the atmosphere was really fun, with military jokes, military songs and military-style group photos. In the evening, the tables, some of which were organized according to trade and regiment, competed with each other in shouts and bawdy songs, to everyone's delight... and cutting the pièce montée with a sword is pretty cool.
It's very late in the evening when the cover photo is taken, and I sometimes ask the bride and groom to give a few minutes of their time to their photographer to enjoy the night-time atmosphere and lighting of the estate, often well after the meal and the opening of the ball.
