Mixed weddings at Domaine de Quincampoix

Neilla and Jacek get married at Domaine de Quincampoix

It was at the very beginning of the 2019 season that Neilla and Jacek entrusted me with the mission of photographing their wedding. Mixed wedding photojournalism is my specialty, so the bride and groom very quickly found themselves in the style of photography I show on my website. They had planned a town hall in Vanves and a reception at the Domaine de Quincampoix, which I visit every year. From the very first moment we met, the feeling quickly developed between us. I met them in a Parisian brasserie just a few months before the wedding.

Preparations in the family home

On the big day, they chose to get ready in the family home. First the boys got dressed in the bedroom upstairs. Then they cleared the room to leave space and light to the ladies. Settling into the large, bright salon, Neilla had her hair and make-up done by Laure Baruch, one of the best in her profession. As usual, she was quick and efficient, enhancing the bride and her bridesmaids. Neilla's dressing took place in the bedroom upstairs. It was also during this morning of preparations that the floral designer delivered the pretty wedding flowers and the bride's bouquet.

The civil ceremony at the town hall in Vanves, Haut de Seine 92

In the early afternoon, the civil ceremony took place in this pretty town hall in Vanves. The town hall is magnificent, with walls and ceilings decorated with murals by Henri Darien, and has been listed as a historic monument since 2011. Chandeliers illuminate the whole, especially in the wedding hall. A long and beautiful ceremony was held here, with lots of emotion. As soon as the civil ceremony was over, it was time for a group photo session in front of the town hall. The almost exhaustive list of photos to be taken, drawn up a few days beforehand, ensured an efficient shoot in a minimum of time.

Couples session in Paris Bir-Hakeim

So it wasn't long before we found ourselves on the Pont Bir-Hakeim, in the heart of Paris, to shoot the bride and groom. It's the ideal all-weather spot in the capital. It had rained, but it didn't matter - we were dry and in one of the most beautiful spots in Paris.

Cocktails and evening at Domaine de Quincampoix, Vallée de Chevreuse, Yvelines 78

Less than 30 minutes from Paris, the Domaine de Quincampoix organized the cocktail reception and evening party. The estate's colonial-style decor is unmistakably multi-ethnic. Decorated with objects from the four corners of the world, the place offers a blend of modernity and nostalgia. For me, this is one of the areas that best reflects the idea of cultural diversity. It gets dark early in winter, so the cocktail party was held indoors. The bride and groom entered the hall, followed by a few emotional speeches. Then came the entertainment, followed by the dancefloor and the opening of the ball, one of my favorite moments at a wedding. It's one of my favorite moments at a wedding, when you let yourself go and the photographer is no longer there in the collective unconscious of the guests. It's an opportunity to take immersive photos, to show off the beauty of body movement, and to capture atypical shots of guests in action, sometimes running wild. DJ Marko was in charge of the soundscape, and as usual, he got the crowd going wild on the dance floor.
